Author’s Note
Edward Byrne is a memoirist, photographer, poet, literary critic, and Senior Research Professor of English at Valparaiso University, where he edits Valparaiso Poetry Review and co-edits Valparaiso Fiction Review. He has included seminars on nature writing and environmental literature among courses he has taught. In addition to creative nonfiction, he is the author of eight collections of poetry. He also has edited two anthologies and has had more than 300 journal publications. Byrne serves as a fine art landscape photographer at Indiana Dunes State Park. His images of the Indiana Dunes have been featured in various periodicals or as book covers. Further, he has had photographs displayed in one-man exhibitions, and he has offered presentations or workshops on photography.
